See You in Toontown, Eddie

I was so bummed to hear of Bob Hoskins' passing today. I loved him as Smee in 'Hook', but of course he'll always be Eddie Valiant. A talented actor who was underrated, he will live on in Toontown.

See you around, Eddie.

Bringing Animation to Life

This. Is. Amazing!

We are witnessing the evolution of Theme Park Attractions. The highly-anticipated Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Attraction that is scheduled to open at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World later this year is going to have Guests captivated in their mine cars.

Walt Disney Imagineering has taken the stagnant faces of our beloved Disney characters and found a way to 'animate' them in 3-D. Take a look at these images. Notice Dopey's eyes and smile.

What the Imagineers have done is found a way to bring these characters to life. I was amazed with what they did with The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Undersea Adventure at Disney's California Adventure. I can't believe how much technology and Imagineer innovation has progressed in a few short years.  Here's another example. Look at Grumpy.

Change Is Good...Unless It's Snake Oil

I received an email from Frontier Airlines today. I've used it on a couple of occasions when flying out to Denver when Delta's prices seemed high.

In this email, CEO David Siegel touts the great news about change being good and when "it goes back into your pocket." If you've traveled in the past few years, you've become accustomed to the airlines hocking their wares and trying to upsell everything from priority seating to WiFi and more.

Frontier Airlines has a new way to gouge you: to charge you for using the overhead bin space. Really? I can live without the peanuts and drinks, and it's bad enough to have to pay for stowing your baggage, but now you have to pay for what you bring on?

I shouldn't complain too loudly, as I'm the one who gets frustrated when people try to bring everything they own on board and cram it into that little tiny space. I've been flying to and from Denver once a month, and I've just been bringing my backpack. It's been helpful, but now, if I chose to fly Frontier ever again, it will keep my change "in my pocket."

Below is the letter I received as well as a link to where you can see this online.

Earth Day: It's Not a Bear (or a Dung)

Another Earth Day has come around, which means the seasons are changing! (Thank goodness) Most of us have had a long winter, so we are very much looking forward to spring.

I had to chuckle today when I saw the Google Doogle. I thought it was appropriate, given a little incident at work yesterday. That little Dung Beetle would have been busy around here.  :-)

Now aside from that, I always look forward to DisneyNature's release around Earth Day. This year, Bears takes center stage and follows a mother and her cubs. I'm hoping to catch this really soon since I wasn't able to see it opening weekend.

If you head over to your local Disney Store, you can receive a free DisneyNature Bears reusable tote bag when you bring in 5 plastic bags on April 22, 2014. Limit 1 tote bag per guest while supplies last at participating locations. Click here for more details. I won't be able to go, so I hope I can buy a bag.

Happy Earth Day!

PS: I found this fun Word Search on the Disney Movie Club website.  Enjoy! (The answers are in the link under the puzzle)

They Arrived!

Well, both my cels arrived, and I have to say I love them both! I put the Disneyland 'Jiminy Cricket' in my office at work, but I'm still trying to decide if I should do the same for the Walt Disney World 'Off the Page' Sorcerer Mickey or bring him home. You can see below I've kept that one wrapped up just in case. My friend and coworker, Sharon, thinks I should hang it in my office. She also said it could go in hers.  Nice try!

I posted more information on February 26th. You can click here to read the details on each cel.
