Driftless

I travel often to Wisconsin Dells for work. It's not one of my favorite places, but a necessary evil. A few years ago, a couple coworkers of mine introduced me to Driftless Glen Distillery in Baraboo, WI. It's about 15 miles from the Dells, and oh so worth the drive!

Situated along the Baraboo River, Driftless Glen Distillery not only sells their concoctions they brew, or rather distill, but they have an amazing kitchen. Try the Jambalaya or flatbreads.

As for the spirits, I love the Skinny Lemon and Skinny Cucumber Vodkas. They are refreshing. Then my coworker told me about the S’mores Flavored Rivershine. She drizzles it over vanilla ice cream. I thought that sounded weird. But when I tried it, wow! I did more than drizzle it!

And as if that isn't enough, they also carry ReneƩ Olive Oils and Balsamics. I came home with three bottles of different olive oils. Two of my favorites are the Baklouti Green Chili Oil and the Dark Toasted Sesame Oil. That last one is great with chicken.

So if you're ever near Wisconsin Dells or Lake Delton, make sure you allow some extra time to visit Driftless Glen in Baraboo. Just follow the street signs.

Let It Whip!

Good news, bad news. The good news is they fixed the Dole Whip machines at Aulani. The bad news is they fixed it on my last day there. Oh well, might as well dive into the Whip!

Disney's PhotoPass Aulani Edition

I can't pass up a photo opp, let alone one from Disney PhotoPass photographers. All right, Mr. DeMille. I'm ready for my close-up.

What a Sunset!

I just can't get over the gorgeous views of the sunset over Koholoa Lagoon at Disney's Aulani Resort.

‘AMA‘AMA

I know the menu changes, and I don't remember what all went into the dishes, but the food, and view, at 'AMA 'AMA are amazing. Make sure you make time, and reservations, to eat here. It's so worth the splurge. To make dining reservations, click here:

Hidden Mickeys Hawaiian Style

Hey, I'm not the only one who looks for Hidden Mickeys. They do it on purpose. Even Stitch found some!

Roy's Ko Olina

I've been to several Roy's Hawaiian Fusion restaurants, so I was pumped when I found out there is a Roy's within walking distance of Aulani. As usual, the food didn't disappoint!

Whip It Good!

I was so jazzed to find out that they have Dole Whip at Disney's Aulani Resort. Then my dreams were dashed when I found out the Dole Whip machines were broken during our stay. But as luck would have it, the Dole Plantation is only a 30-minute drive from the Resort. I was able to score my Whip and then some!

Look at all those Jelly Belly Beans!

Hey! It's Hei Hei!

The last time I was in Hawaii was in the 1970's with my family. So I wanted to go back to places where I went with my parents and sister. One of those placed would be Diamond Head State Monument. Who knew I would even find some Disney influence there? (Yes, I find it everywhere.)

Separated at birth?

Character Breakfast at Makahiki

Anyone who knows me, knows I love food. The other thing I love are Disney characters. So you know I'm like a kid at Christmas when the two are combined. The first morning of my trip, I scheduled a Character Breakfast. My mascot, Stitch, joined me as well.

The breakfast was similar to other Disney breakfasts, but they also had local favorites. I was determined to eat as much fresh pineapple as I could. When I saw what they did to the bananas and Goldfish crackers, I thought, "Why haven't I thought of that?"

So, now the embarrassing part...for me. See that lovely Mimosa?

Well, I saw that Minnie and Pluto were making their way over to my table for pictures. I got so excited to hug Minnie, I knocked over my Mimosa and broke the Champagne flute on the floor. You would think I'm three, not fifty three. Minnie giggled, and a nice Cast Member came over quickly to clean up my mess.
